|Dora Hájková began her studies at the Prague Grammar and Music School under
Prof. H. and V. Kočí. Currently she attends AMU in the class of MgA. T. Strašil. In the past
she has studied at the Hochschule für Musik Detmold in the class of Prof. X. Jankovic.
She is a laureate of the Janáček international competition (2018). Her other successes at
competitions include 1st prize at the Talents for Europe international stringed instruments
competition, 2nd prize at the David Popper competition in Hungary, 2nd prize at the
Dotzauer cello competition in Dresden, Germany, and reaching the final round of the FLAME
competition in Paris for young musicians up to 30 years of age and the Concours International de Cordes de Kichompré.
For her debut concert in Prague‘s Rudolfinum, she played
with the Prague Symphony Orchestra. She also performed Vivaldi‘s double concerto at the
Rudolfinum, together with Josef Špaček, concertmaster of the Czech Philharmonic, as part
of the ”Josef Suk Introduces Young Talents“ concert cycle. Her other solo performances
include one with Czech Virtuosi and another with the festival orchestra of the Bruno Walter
Symphony Orchestra. She has performed at festivals such as Bach-for-all, Meetings with
Music, Prague Classics, and the chamber music festival AMEROPA – the latter with her
ensemble, the Arnys Trio Prague. In the past, she was a member of the European Union
Youth Orchestra. For three years, she studied with a scholarship from the Jiří Kout Foundation, and from the 2018/19 concert season she is a member of the orchestral academy of
the Czech Philharmonic. In the 2019/20 season, she was added to the Czech Music Fund
Foundation‘s Young Artists List.
She won 1st Prize at the Gustav Mahler Prize cello
competition in Jihlava, Czech Republic (2019).
