The members of the Quatuor Daphnis string quartet met during their studies in Paris. They
played together informally for several years before founding the Quartet. Their repertoire is
very extensive, from baroque to contemporary music, but they are especially passionate about
tender and expressive French music. They indeed named the quartet as a homage to Maurice
Ravel, the composer of ballet Daphnis et Chloé.
They have played in numerous festivals in
France. In 2017, invited by conductor Julien Masmondet, they became part of a new group of
artists: « Nouvelle Société des Apaches ». They have premiered many pieces by living
composers such as Pascal Zavaro’s first chamber opera, and toured the piece in numerous
cities in France including Théâtre de l’Athénée in Paris. They are the winners of the Young
Quartet competition organized at the Paris Philharmonie in 2018. They are currently studying
with Jean Sulem at the Paris Conservatory (CNSMDP).
