|Pavol Praženica is currently studying at the Prague Secondary School of Music in the class of Libuše Tichá MgA PhD. Apart from this, he is studying at Music Faculty of Prague's Academy of Performing Arts in the class of Prof. Alena Vlasáková. Simultaneously he is attending vocal studies in the class of Jaroslav Mrázek MgA.
He is a laureate of many national and international piano competitions such as the Amadeus Piano Competition in Brno, Czech Republic, the International Piano Competition in Königs Wüsterhausen, Germany, the Ferenc Liszt International Piano Competition in Weimar, Germany, the Smetana International Piano Competition in Plzeň, Czech Republic, the Béla Bartók International Piano Competition in Vienna, Austria, the FLAME International Competition in Paris, and the Young Pianist of the North International Competition in Newcastle, United Kingdom.
Other competitions he has won include the Pro Bohemia in Ostrava, Czech Republic (2013), the International Piano Competition in Glubczyce, Poland (2013), and the International Piano Competition in Dolný Kubín, Slovakia (2015). Also in 2015, he triumphed as the absolute winner (out of 111 contestants) at the Prague Junior Note piano competition. In 2016, he achieved 2nd prize at the Mozart International Piano Competition in Frascati – Rome, Italy (1st prize was not awarded) as well as winning the Virtuosi Musica di Pianoforte International Piano Competition in Ústí nad Labem, Czech Republic. This year, he won the Nationwide Czech Piano Competition held under the auspices of the Ministry of Education and was awarded 2nd prize at the Peter Toperczer International Piano Competition in Košice, Slovakia.
Juries particularly appreciated his outstanding performances of Dusík's Sonata in D major performed in Glubczyce (2013), Haydn's Sonata in H minor in Ústí nad Labem, Czech Republic (2012), Bach's Three-Part Inventions in Prague (2012), and Mozart’s Sonata in F major in Ústí nad Labem (2016). In 2013, Pavol participated in a master class given by František Pergler and Gabor Echardt in Bratislava, Slovakia.
As an invited soloist, he performed Haydn's Piano Concerto in D major with the Symphonic Orchestra of Prague 8 at the concert hall of the Prague Conservatory to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the founding of this orchestra. The Czechoslovak Chamber Orchestra Prague invited Pavol to perform as a soloist at a Christmas concert held at the Brevnov Monastery in Prague. In the hall of the Slovak Simfonietta in Žilina, Slovakia, Pavol gave a recital featuring pieces by Bach, Mendelssohn, Liszt and Bartok in 2014. In the 2015/2016 season he joined the Slovak Sinfonietta once again, playing Haydn's Piano Concerto in D major in a series of four Christmas concerts under the baton of Simon Chalk. He also performed with the Prague Symphony Orchestra in the famous hall of the Czech Philharmonic as a soloist in the cycle “Homage to Josef Suk by young talents” in 2016. In 2017 he gave recitals at the Prague 4 Cultural Center and the Cultural Node of Northern Slovakia in Žilina, both in 2017.
