The Quartet Amabile was formed at the Toho Gakuen School of Music, Japan. The quartet won Third Prize, and also the special prize for the best interpretation of the competition piece, in the string quartet section of the 65th ARD International Music Competition Munich, in September 2016. The quartet performed with Martha Argerich at the 19th Beppu Music Festival in May 2017, and has also performed with Kazuhide Isomura, Kyril Zlotnikov, and Krzysztof Jablonski. The quartet won the overall Grand Prix and First Prize at the 10th Yokohama International Music Competition, and First Prize at the 12th Romanian International Music Competition, as well as the Kirishima International Music Festival Prize and Tsuyoshi Tsutsumi Music Director Prize at the 37th Kirishima International Music Festival.
